How do we diagnose dry eye disease?

Oculus Keratograph 5M

The Oculus Keratograph 5M has been instrumental in diagnosing, treating, and managing dry eye disease. This non-invasive test measures your tear volume, evaluates the lipid layer, and examines the structure of the meibomian glands.

This simple test allows us to diagnose and classify the type of dry eye you have, facilitating a quick diagnosis and path to treatment.

TearCare

At your appointment, Dr. Adeleke will determine whether your dry eye symptoms are caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) and would benefit from the use of The TearCare® System.

The TearCare® System is a wearable eyelid device that gently applies heat to the meibomian glands to melt and remove oil blockages.

Check out the video below to see how this innovative treatment works.

ZEST

During ZEST treatments, we gently exfoliate and clean the eyelids and eyelashes.

Cleaning the eyelids removes biofilm, debris, and excess bacteria, opening up the pores and allowing the free-flowing of oil onto the tear film. This simple yet effective process relieves symptoms of dry eye disease and blepharitis.

IPL — Intense Pulse Light by Lumenis

OptiLight by Lumenis is the first FDA-approved dry eye treatment for meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

This 4-session treatment is non-invasive and involves applying gel and light to the skin under your eyes. Each session is quick and painless, and you can return to normal skincare and makeup use without a problem.

IPL reduces abnormal blood vessels that perpetuate inflammation and decreases the population of Demodex mites. It’s also known to reduce sun spots, spider veins, and redness of the face when combined with Photofacial treatment.
